Study in South Korea for foreign students

Foreign students may also work in south Korea after graduation, especially in Technology and Science. Foreign students studying for an undergraduate, postgraduate, or language school are allowed to work part-time after staying for a minimum of 6 months in Korea.

There are available courses in English. But it's highly recommended to require the Korean language before starting college so you'll adapt well to living in Korea.


Why South Korea?

The Republic of Korea is famous within the field of information technology, technology, and entertainment. Seoul, the capital of South Korea is also included within the top 10 cities.

Compared to other English speaking universities like in the US, Canada, and the UK, tuition fees and living expenses in south Korea is cheaper.

An undergraduate course at a public university costs a mean of us $ 2,000 to the US $ 4,500 per semester ( Humanities subjects are priced at a lower end and medicine at the top). The typical annual tuition fees at the 16 internationally ranked Universities in Seoul cost an estimate of us $ 6,800.


South Korea Study Qualifications

1. Graduated from high school (undergraduate), or graduate from undergraduate (graduate).

2. Students or parents have a minimum bank deposit of us $ 20,000 for an undergraduate and postgraduate program.

3. Accepted at registered educational institutions for international students.

4. Students must have good health.

5. If international students would really like to study in Korea for a regular degree course, it's generally required to submit TOPIK level 3 or higher.

However, if the international students would like to apply the courses are given in English, the participants submit the certificate of English proficiency (TOEFL). and that they don't have to acquire a TOPIK score nor reach TOPIK level 4 or higher to graduate.


Course Length

Language course: 1~2 years.

Undergraduate: 4~6 years.

Graduate: 2~3 years.


Student Admission Process In south Korea University

The South Korean academic year generally starts in March. however many universities in South Korea also accept new students twice a year: in March and September.

For March intake, student admission is usually in September-November within the previous year. While for the September intake, student admissions are within the months of May-June.


Global Korea Scholarship (GKS)

Purpose of GKS 

To provide international students with the chance to conduct Advanced Studies in undergraduate and graduate programs at higher education institution within the Republic of Korea so as to push international exchanges in education and from Mutual Friendship between countries.


Available options in University

Undergraduate course:

 4-year courses at designated University.

 Transferring between universities isn't allowed. ( example: starting studies at the junior year isn't allowed.)

 Graduate course: 

 Master's or Ph.D. courses at general graduate schools of Korean Universities

 Living Allowance: Undergraduate (KRW 800,000), Graduate (KRW 900,000)

Medical Insurance: KRW 20,000 (per month)

Language Courses: KRW 800,000 (per quarter) 

Tuition Fees: Actual Cost (No over 5 million KRW per semester)

Award of excellent TOPIK: KRW 100,000 Research Support: KRW 21,000-240,000 (per semester)

Printing Costs (Dissertation): KRW 500,000-800,000


Qualifications 

Both an applicant and his/her parents must be citizens of their country of origin. Applicants shouldn't hold Korean citizenships.

-Applicants should have adequate health. both mentally and physically to remain in a very foreign country for a protracted time.

-Should be under 25 years old at the date of entrance (Undergraduate).

-Should be under 40 years old at the date of entrance (Graduate).

-Have finished or be scheduled to complete formal education of all elementary, middle, highschool courses by the date of arrival (Undergraduate).

-Possess a grade point Average (GPA) above 80% from the last institution attended. 

-Holds a bachelor's degree or a master's degree by the date of arrival (Graduate).

Applicants who have previously achieved in any undergraduate program Master's program or doctoral program in Korea cannot apply for this program.

 However, A former or current KGSP scholar who hold the general grade of 90% or above can reapply to the current program once either Other through The Embassy
